Apprentice Spotlight: Charlie , Dereham leisure Centre - - Personal Training, Level 3
I have a very active and varied role as a Duty Manager; I also teach swimming lessons and supervise gymnastics. I recently completed an apprenticeship in Personal Training Level 3 as I wanted to turn my interest into a career.
The apprenticeship programme helped me gain theoretical knowledge of the human body and how it works and it has taught me the practical skills that are required in building a business as a personal trainer. Developing these skills has helped me build my confidence in the gym and be able to provide recommended advice to our gym users.
The apprenticeship has allowed me more freedom than ordinary learning in a classroom environment. My colleagues supported me with great advice throughout my apprenticeship and I was able to learn whilst working. My tutor was always available whenever I required support and guidance and made regular visits to my site.
I enjoyed the apprenticeship more than I thought I was going to and I would recommend an apprenticeship, especially if it is based on something you have an interest in.
