Apprentice Spotlight: Ben, Head Office - IT Support Technician apprenticeship
Now I have successfully completed an IT Support Technician Apprenticeship, I am employed as a full-time IT technician within the company. I support both our head office and all of our leisure sites with IT support.
During my apprenticeship programme, I gained real work experience which provided a strong foundation for the important skills needed for a career in IT. These included both technical and soft skills such as system administration, troubleshooting, and IT asset management, while also improving my problem-solving, communication and time management abilities. The new skills help me support users with a range of IT needs.
I really enjoyed hands-on learning and working on real projects. It was rewarding to see the impact of my work and apply what I learned in practical situations.
The company provided a supportive environment; they equipped me with the necessary tools and resources and gave opportunities to work on live tasks that helped me develop my skills. The tutor at Now Skills Limited was very supportive and helped me to understand my coursework and assessments
I had a great experience on my programme with more practical elements that I had expected. I would highly recommend an apprenticeship. It’s a great way to gain industry experience, learn valuable skills and start a career whilst getting a qualification.
