OPERATIONS MANAGER - Food and Beverage 

Location: Pavilion Gardens, Buxton  

Salary: up to £32,000

Full Time 40 Hours per week

We have an exciting opportunity for an OPERATIONS MANAGER - Food & Beverage to join our team at the prestigious Pavilion Gardens, Buxton.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing all Front of House Food & Beverage operations and delivering an excellent guest experience. The successful candidate will be able to forecast, plan and manage all F&B orders, staff and finance. The goal is to maximise sales and revenue at the site and improve customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

Pavilion Gardens Buxton is an events and hospitality venue that hosts over 100 events annually, ranging from weddings, dinners, auctions, party nights and stage shows. We also have a number of food and beverage outlets, Pavilion Tearooms, a grab-and-go service in the Pavilion Kitchen, a coffee van and an Ice Cream Parlour. In addition to the permanent outlets, there are also a number of pop ups dependant on the event taking place. All of these venues will be the responsibility of the Operations manager.

The Operations Manager will be responsible for managing, motivating and inspiring a team of supervisors, f&b assistants and casual seasonal staff, along with working closely with the site's Head Chef and kitchen team. There will be no split shifts and the majority of working time will be based around the regular opening times of 9-5. There will be a requirement to work evenings and weekends.

Role Responsibility

  • To ensure the highest possible standards of Health & Safety and legislative compliance are met.
  • To ensure all revenue opportunities are maximised.
  • Manage operational rotas to ensure consistent, seamless customer service.
  • To assist the Contract Manager in the day to day running of the business.
  • To supervise the day to day operation of all food and beverage outlets in order to maximise profitability in line with the company business plan.
  • To take the lead in the operational aspects of all catered events and support all public events with innovative and exciting catering offers
  • To deliver the highest possible standards of staff training and development.
  • To coordinate and oversee all catering outlets and provide appropriate supervision & direction, support, guidance and motivation and empower staff to ensure exemplary levels of customer care are delivered consistently at all times.
  • To deputise for the Contract Manager as requested.
  • To take the lead in all operational aspects of the venue.
  • To deliver and coordinate a range of events throughout the year.
  • Leading the team with a hands-on approach when required.
  • Being present in our outlets during peak trading times to ensure excellent customer service is being delivered

The ideal candidate

  • A succesful previous track record of Operations or F&B management in a similar role.
  • Recognised F&B Service qualifications.
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy, sound financial acumen.
  • Proven experience in using information and technology.
  • Demonstrable ability to lead by example.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to self-direct workload.
  • Ability to manage at multiple levels.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers, clients, and staff at all levels.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure managing multiple workloads.
  • Ability to achieve and set standards and operate to performance criteria.
  • Knowledge of health & safety and food safety.
  • Able to demonstrate attention to detail and adherence to standards.
  • Flexible approach to role.

Desirable

  • Basic food hygiene certificate.
  • IOSH Managing Safely Qualification or equivalent.
  • First aid certificate.
  • Experience of delivering training using company guidelines.
  • Experience in working with point of sale systems.
  • Personal Licence (SCPLH).
