JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary objectives for the Crÿche Assistant will be:

• To ensure the crÿche area is safe and clean for use at all times. To control and supervise children in the area and ensure their safety.

• To ensure the crÿche operation is in line with the Centre’s Normal Operating Procedures. (NOP's)

• To ensure the highest possible standards of Childcare are provided at all times.

The Crÿche Assistant will focus day to day on the following tasks:

• Ensure the continued safety and security of all children using the crÿche, and take responsibility for users of the crÿche in an emergency.

• Deliver activities for crÿche users, promoting children’s welfare through participation, and supervise them at all times.

• Supervise children whilst they use the toilet facilities, ensuring relevant PPE is available and maintained (Personal Protection Equipment).

• Act as a key worker for children settling into the crÿche as required.

• Ensure the children are returned to their parents or guardians.

• Constantly examine all equipment, materials and areas that are used and through the unit fault reporting system report any defects or hazards immediately to your line manager.

• Liaise with parents to ensure correct information is provided on all aspects of their child’s care.

• To follow the requirements of the Child Protection Policy.

• To attend training and development as required.

• To undertake any other duties appropriate to the role as required by the facility management.
