JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary objectives for the Centre Manager will be:
To input into and implement the strategy for the business of Legacy Leisure within the Erewash Contract.
To consistently increase both the financial performance and usage of Victoria Park Leisure Centre.
through the effective development and operation of the centres.
To ensure the effective operation of Victoria Park Leisure Centre for the Erewash community.
To manage, develop and co-ordinate staff resources effectively to meet the operational requirements of the Contract and to create a trained, dynamic, innovative and responsive staff team through open communication and leadership.
Develop, maintain and foster good relations with existing clients and partners.
Monitor the performance of the operation of Victoria Park Leisure Centre through the proper Company accounting and reporting procedures.
Increase the awareness of the company’s image and credibility.
Take responsibility and ensure compliance with health and safety and other legislative requirements for the operation of the Centres including actively participating in the maintenance and improvement of the overall Company Health and Safety culture.
Be technically able and play a proactive role in securing new business for Legacy Leisure and the centres.
To deliver the Authority specification requirements at the Centres and across the Erewash Contract as part of the contract management team.
The Centre Manager will focus day to day on the following tasks:
Oversee the effective and efficient operation of the Centres.
Ensure that the buildings are presented at the highest levels of maintenance and cleanliness to the customers that use the facilities.
To ensure that information gathered and systems used provide information to the Client as required for reporting purposes.
To develop a programme of services, activities and events that will attract increased usage from the local community.
To consistently develop and improve operational procedures to meet legislative and best practice requirements.
To develop and maintain quality assured procedures for all aspects of the facilities operations inline with the Companies internal quality processes.
Recruit, train and motivate staff within the Centres and the Contract to ensure sufficient and well trained staff are employed to deliver services.
Effectively implement and monitor the company’s Health and Safety policy and associated procedures and ensure the facilities are compliant with legislative requirements.
To implement Parkwood Holding’s Environmental Management Policy.
Carry out all financial accounting requirements.
Maintain and promote a motivational and sales driven culture.
Ensure that the buildings are maintained according to the requirements of the planned preventative maintenance programme including statutory compliance in all aspects.
Improve customer satisfaction through the effective operation of the centre and delivery of the customer journey and sales process.
To undertake any other duties as reasonably required by the General Manager and other Senior Management.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
Qualifications and skills
It is desirable that the post holder will have a recognised qualification in Leisure Management, Sports Development or a related subject preferably to degree level/NVQ 5 or similar industry experience of 3 years+. An additional business qualification would be advantageous. A valid NPLQ would also be beneficial, but not essential as training will be provided to the successful applicant to gain the qualification.
With a proven track record in managing and developing sports and leisure facilities the post holder will ideally have achieved a presence within the industry that ensures personal credibility.

Conditions of employment
- **DBS - **The position of Centre Manager may be classed as a regulated post and therefore may require a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS check, it may be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
