The RIC is a multi use venue comprising a range of Leisure facilities as well Conference/Event and Function spaces. These facilities are complimented by a Food & Beverage department including a public cafe and an event kitchen team.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsible to the Events Manager, the Bar Supervisor role is a key position in the business. Their main objective is to be responsible for any event related Bar operations and provide assistance to the Food and Beverage team, as well as fulfilling the role for Duty Manager for evening events

Primary objectives for the Bar Supervisor will be:

  • To supervise all event bar operations.

  • To supervise teams of staff during events.

  • To be responsible for the stock ordering, rotation & control of wines, beers and spirits.

  • To supervise the operation of the cellar.

  • To respond to the requirements of events as per instructions from the Event Coordinators and the Events Manager

  • To interface with clients during the event as required.

  • To maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the department.

  • To maintain flexibility within all aspects of the role.

  • To attend weekly Functions meetings.

  • To undertake Duty Management shifts in line with event requirements.

  • To organise and rota on staff as per the event requirements, whether it be from employed staff or via recruitment agencies.

  • To liaise and communicate with staff and ensure that rotas are always up to date aiming to be staffed 6-8 weeks in advance

  • To ensure that the dress code is adhered to by all department staff.

  • To ensure that all department staff adhere to the department’s Code of Practice.

  • To support the Events Manager with all HR procedures relative to the department, e.g. ensuring bar staff are up to date with their online training.

  • To ensure any price changes are updated onto the tills and tariffs amended.

  • To keep a count of any bar items that are to be invoiced to the client and information is passed onto the Event Coordinator and a record kept for stock take purposes.

  • Any other duty as deemed reasonable by the Events Manager or Center Manager.

THE CANDIDATE

  • Will have experience in the events and/or hospitality industry.

  • Will possess a friendly, approachable and ‘can do’ attitude.

  • Will be passionate about providing exceptional customer care.

  • Will have a keen eye for detail and be able to multitask.

  • Will be flexible - evening and weekend work will apply.

  • Will be computer literate.

  • Will ideally possess qualifications in hospitality-related subjects such as Food Hygiene, Wine and Spirits and cellar management

  • Will be a personal Personal Licence Holder, or be willing to undertake the training to have one.

  • A sound knowledge of stock ordering, rotation and control

  • Will have a desire to overachieve in a challenging but rewarding industry.

  • Will be able to maintain and be committed to good employee relations and deliver quality training.

DBS

  • Some positions are classed as a regulated post and therefore require a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
